Künstlerpostkarten 2017

25th - 26th November

Strahlholz, Switzerland

Inspiration for this year card collection came from my trips to Cuba and South Korea as well as from all kinds of waste materials I had at home. All the cards are partially made of recycled materials. More info about Künstlerpostkarten exhibition. First two cards were also at the exhibition called Artstop (Taidepysäkki) in Varkaus, Finland.

Korean dreams

I got the idea for the illustartion when I knew I was going to South Korea for the first time in my life. That was in 2016. After that trip I found from my camera memory card a picture which I had taken in Changdeokgung Palace area. I thought it was fitting perfectly together with the illustration.

You'll probably notice that I forgot something in the final version. However, I decided to keep it like that. Who cares about a little mistake.

Korean dreams

1950 dreams

First it was a picture taken in Havanna, Cuba. Then I noticed that a woman figure I made for a birthday card was fitting perfectly together with that picture. Finally I enclosed the card in a plastic wrap (product package) which someone had given me.

All my recycled pody parts 1

I had a photo print with wrong color settings, stack of different test prints, newspapers, magazines and advertisements. Those inspired me to do the cards All my recycled pody parts 1 and 2.
